Why we're different

Hello! This is Kelly, the mom behind Cabooties, popping in to let you know a few of the things that make this little business so special.  We don't have a huge building, or a big team (Cabooties runs out of a small studio in my basement!) I'm blessed with the support of small group of work from home moms who sew, answer emails, and post to social media, and our fulfillment center in Cleveland, Ohio.  We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of your little one's journey as they embark on their first steps and big adventures!
Here's a quick list of a few things that are especially important to us at Cabooties:

Safety: Our shoes are made by hand in the US and meet rigorous CPSC safety standards.  We only use materials that are guaranteed to be free from lead. Cabooties are also free from buttons, sequins, and other small parts that could come off and pose a choking hazard, because we all know babies that love to chew on their feet.
Quality: We use the highest quality materials, sourced from US based suppliers. Our rubber soles come from a small supplier in New York, and our uppers are printed in North Carolina.  Could we charge less if we sourced these items from China? Sure, but our commitment to supporting local, US-based companies is a top priority for us.
Health and Safety: Our shoes were designed following pediatrician and podiatrist recommendations for infant and toddler foot development and safety.  Our flexible soles allow tiny feet to wiggle and grip the ground without hindering their movement- ideal for babes who are still exploring and growing.  The rubber in our soles also protects your little adventurer as they learn to stand and walk.
Eco-Conscience: All Cabooties are made from vegan materials, and our Eco-Canvas fabric is made with 45% post-consumer content.  In 2020 we will begin shipping in 100% recycled packaging.
Commitment to families: Our shoes are handmade by work from home sewists. Empowering people to stay at home with their families if they choose to, while still earning a fair living wage is part of what makes Cabooties unique, and something we are especially proud of.
Shopping small: Cabooties is a labor of love from maker/founder/wearer-of-many-hats Kelly.  She started making booties in 2014 when she couldn't find any suitable shoes for her son (whose initials make up the CAB in Cabooties). Today she is thankful for the chance to share the satisfaction of washable shoes that actually stay put with families around the world.
